MTGGoldfish Site Update: Mobile!
Oh boy! It's been a while since I posted a blog-style site update. Today I want to share with everyone the exciting upgrades to the site:
Mobile
We updated our layout! The main motivation behind this was to get a mobile-friendly version of the website. So now you can enjoy MTGGoldfish on your phone without double-tapping and pinching everywhere. If you find any problems, or have any feedback (positive or negative!), leave it in the comments below or send an email to contact@mtggoldfish.com
Speed
With the mobile design, we pretty much gutted and rewrote most of the UI code. The benefit to you guys and girls is speed! The new design should be a lot snappier. We're not done yet! Over the next couple of weeks, we'll be rolling out more speed upgrades to ensure the best possible experience for you folks.
Comprehensive
So those are the obvious changes. There have been many behind-the-scene changes going on with the website. The first is the card database. Starting with Khans of Tarkir, new cards went up on the website as soon as they were spoiled (within minutes/hours). The ebay prices are right there on the card page so that you know the market value.
Secondly, we have been very diligent about promotional cards. Every promotional card should be on the site. As soon as an FNM-promo is spoiled, it's on the site. As soon as bots stock MTGO promos, it's on the site.
Product information: Starting with Commander 2014 and continuing with Duel Decks Anthology, we've been posting product information pages in our Shop. These pages tell you about the product itself (e.g. release date) and contain deck lists with prices so that you know how much value is contained. (It turns out Commander 2014 White decks are still good value!) There are also handy ebay links if you want to order/pre-order.
Timely
Lastly, also starting around Pro Tour Khans of Tarkir, all of the prices on the website are updated hourly. This includes online prices and paper prices. This includes the price lists, the card price pages, the decklist pages -- EVERYTHING. Gone are the days of "data may be 24 hours old."
The Future
We still have many more goodies planned! I don't want to give too much away, but there might be some significant upgrades to the decks section soon. If there's anything you're dying to see on the site, please leave a comment below!
