Single Scoop: How To Be Flashy in Explorer
Gameplan
I started looking into playing an Esper flash deck thanks to Ertai Resurrected and this looks like an awesome build to start with in Explorer!
Cunning Nightbonder serves as our lord effect allowing us to get absurdly cheap The Wandering Emperor, Ashiok's Erasure, and Obscura Interceptor into play! With multiple Nightbonders, we can potentially get a two mana planeswalker that isn't the infamous Tibalt! Slitherwisp will serve as a way to refill our hand and ping our opponents for reach as the body on Slitherwisp isn't great in combat. The deck does get wrecked by an excessive amount of Thoughtseize, but most decks do, so we do what we can! We're all about tempo and hoping to keep our opponent off their key turns. Cards like Obscura Charm can counter an instant or sorcery spell or just reanimate a target after they've spent their resources. Interceptor is also huge against control as they're relying on Supreme Verdict to resolve but thanks to Interceptor, we'll just bounce it off the stack!
Conclusion
The deck isn't as powerful as it could be as we don't have Spell Queller, but maybe Ertai Resurrected will make up for that as being able to also remove something while putting a body out is worth having an opponent draw a card. I really can't wait to play with this deck more once Dominaria United hits! Right now, this is about a tier 2 deck but will definitely get a nice little bump in power.
