Gameplan

This was the Esper/Obscura list I took to high mythic for the last couple of months but with Capenna, the deck just got a ton of new tools and some reworking that needs to be done. First thing that had to be done right off the bat was the number of Vanishing Verse. The meta hasn't even gotten close to settling but with how many multicolored threats there are, I think I'm going to have to lower the numbers on one of my favorite removal spells for now.

Don't worry, it wouldn't be me if I didn't okay a ton of removal and we're swapping out vanishing verses for the sweet new Void Rend. Being able to hit any permanent with very few restrictions is solid. It's even better when you take into effect how many Ward things there are like Graveyard Trespasser and etc as this will allow us to get around Ward's cost. Next up, we're trying out Luxior, Giada's Gift. This card has to be a bomb in standard when you think about how fast things can spiral out of control if we equip The Wandering Emperor or Elspeth Resplendent

$ 0.00 $ 0.00 $ 0.00 $ 0.00

Having played a ton of games with the deck, it felt amazing to get Luxior and Kaya, the Inexorable's +1 together. As we'll be able to get back our planeswalkers. Kaya can just keep partying if she targets herself! I've also thrown in Raffine, Scheming Seer for two reasons. One, it may seem like we're low in creature count but we're actually a token deck at the end of the day. With all of those tokens, we can easily start running wild on our opponents and Connive. The other reason? It increases targets for us to return with Obscura Charm !

Conclusion

I wasn't able to get the Luxior fiesta to happen on video but I was able to on stream. With a meta that looks like it'll be doing whatever it can to go hyper aggro or win on the back of Ob Nixilis, the Adversary, I think I have a good idea of how I'm going to tune this deck to attack the meta. Be sure to check back as this is a week 0 build. If not, swing by my streams!

Thanks for watching the content.
